Our most powerful tools just got better with the 60-Volt MAX 4-1/2 in. – 6 in. grinder. It has up to 30% more power than the DCG414 60V MAX grinder with 2300 unit Watt out. This grinder delivers 13 Amp power with a no-load speed of 9000 RPM. It is part of the PERFORM and PROTECT product line to help keep users safe. Its kickback brake engages when a pinch, stall or bind-up event is sensed and shuts the grinder off.
- 13 Amp motor
- 9000 RPM no-load speed for applications with 6 in. grinder wheels
- Brake engages when trigger is released, stopping speeds of 1.5-seconds with standard grinding wheel (4-1/2 in. x 1/4 in. bonded abrasive wheel, non-hubbed)
- Kickback brake engages when a pinch, stall or bind-up event is sensed and the electronic brake engages with maximum force to quickly stop the wheel, reduce the movement of the grinder and shut the grinder off
- E-clutch activates in less than a tenth of a second when a pinch/stall is detected, shutting down the motor
- Up to 30% more power vs the DCG414

The first thing I noticed with this grinder was, with the 60v battery attached, the balance was excellent. Charging the 9ah Flex battery took a good hour. The battery has a thumb latch to secure it into places. Installing the grinder wheel and in my case, a metal cut off disc as well, was very easy, quick and secure. The locking flange is tightened by hand first and finishing with the included hex wrench. Very easy to do. The wheel guard was my only negative experience. The spring loaded latch that allows for guard adjustment and removal, should and could be more finger friendly. The spindle lock is easily accessible. Large storage bag. Decent instructions. I lowered a drain cover made of steel. That required four cuts using the grinder with a not included cutoff disc, The grinder went through the cuts easily. Absolutely no vibration from the tool. I like it a lot.
