Our most powerful tools just got better with the 60-Volt MAX 4-1/2 in. – 6 in. grinder. It has up to 30% more power than the DCG414 60V MAX grinder with 2300 unit Watt out. This grinder delivers 13 Amp power with a no-load speed of 9000 RPM. It is part of the PERFORM and PROTECT product line to help keep users safe. Its kickback brake engages when a pinch, stall or bind-up event is sensed and shuts the grinder off.

- 9000 RPM no-load speed for applications with 6 in. grinder wheels
- Brake engages when trigger is released, stopping speeds of 1.5-seconds with standard grinding wheel (4-1/2 in. x 1/4 in. bonded abrasive wheel, non-hubbed)
- Kickback brake engages when a pinch, stall or bind-up event is sensed and the electronic brake engages with maximum force to quickly stop the wheel, reduce the movement of the grinder and shut the grinder off
- E-clutch activates in less than a tenth of a second when a pinch/stall is detected, shutting down the motor
- Up to 30% more power vs the DCG414

60 volts at 9 AH is a lot of power to get you through the toughest jobs. This is a serious tool made by Dewalt to cut, grind, sand and wire brush applications. It has many features and you should read the User manual thoroughly before using it. Changing wheels is easy with the spindle lock and included wrench. Spend some extra time reading about the guard and the two positions of the one touch and two touch guard options. The manual explains it and the options for the way the guard can be positioned. It comes with one wheel and a tool hadle which can be mounted on either side. The head can rotate 90 degrees to get the best position for the job at hand. Allow the tooll to get to full speed for cutting operations (1 second) before contact with the material. It has a safety clutch system that protects against binding and pinch of the whell in the material. Dewalt put a lot of thought and power into this tool. It have a charger for the invluded 60 volt 9 AH battery. The Flexvolt battery 20v/60V will work in the 20 volt, 60 volt and 120 volt ( two 60 volt batteries installed) tools. I quickly discovered there’s a lot of flexibility, power and options with this awesome tool.

This thing is a beast! (in a good way) Not only in size (nearly 20in) but also power. In cutting tasks up through 3/8 steel and sanding work with various grits of flap discs I never felt I was lacking in torque. I’d even go as far as saying this would trump the corded model I’d been using for the last 10 years. I’ve yet to hit the end of battery life on the 9Ah monster battery – but appreciate I could swap in my other 20v batteries if ever working an extended time away from a charge. Grip was comfortable and the safety mechanism worked but wasn’t intrusive when completing multiple repetitive actions. Disc swaps were easy and I could typically torque things down without needing the hex wrench. All in all a solid piece of equipment, love it.

This flex volt 60 grinder by dewalt is definitely an amazing tool. It comes with carry bag quick charger, battery, and two guards. The guards are interchangeable so you can use a 4.5″ blade and a 6″ blade. It has plenty of power and when I used it to shorten my rv steps it cut through the angle iron like butter. I would have loved to own this thing when I did concrete work and needed to cut a bunch of rebar. It would have made that job a lot easier. I am definitely impressed with this tool.
