After my old coffee maker made a mess on my kitchen counter, I researched replacements. I’m ex-Navy and I drink a lot of coffee and wanted a reliable unit. Saw what I liked in the KitchenAid 12 cup coffee maker. I prefer KitchenAid appliences as I have a 5 qt. KitchenAid stand mixer that’s been with me for over 46 years and has never let me down. I’ve had this unit a little over a month and I must say that I’m satisfied with it. I had to experiment with the amount of grounds to use as my taste for coffee isn’t compatible with the ‘guide lines’ of the grounds indicator. But that’s just kmy choice. One negative item about this is the condensation that forms on the showerhead lid and drains down the side and front of the unit when the lid is lifted to remove the basket. Other than that, it’s a great machine. I also like the ‘bold’ brew option. I haven’t tried out the automatic brew start yet as I usually prepare the unit at night before I go to bed and just hit the start button after I stumble into the kitchen.
