I was very happy to find the M12 flashlight. To have a flashlight that uses the same rechargeable batteries as my other cordless tools that I use at home. Thank you.

Milwaukee blacked out this tool compared to their normal red color. I really like the look of it blacked out. It does have a silver bezel at the lens. This is made of metal and is fairly substantial in size. The light output is stated at 800 lumens, and it is very bright. The light beam is a white which gives a brighter beam giving a great view of everything. It has a high, low, and strobe mode that is controlled by a separate button than the on/off button. I like this feature and wish more flashlights with multiple modes would do it. It also runs off any of the M12 batteries in the Milwaukee line up. A great feature that took me a while to notice is that when the battery is almost dead, the beam will flash. The beam does not shadow at all like some flashlights do when they are able to zoom in and out. Giving you a warning that your battery is about to go out. Great quality, great tools,

Puts out a lot of light! Not the ” blue light” either. Light is well built. Little heavier than expected. Wish it had adjustable beam.

While output options are nice this is a run of road flashlight when looking at alternatives in the flashlight world and absolutely the most overpriced one. The ONLY reason to consider it is because you have ample 12v milwaukee batteries otherwise there are far better options.

This flashlight offers great performance in both spot and flood modes, with the convenience of using M12 batteries. The anodized aluminum construction is very sturdy, and the IP54 weatherproof rating means you won’t have to worry about water ingress if you need to use it in the rain. One of the best features about this light is the ability to control on/off and the three modes independently. It will automatically turn on to the last mode used, instead of having to cycle through all of them when turning it on/off.The focus mechanism works by sliding the front of the light forward and backward to switch between spot and flood. The light has good coverage through its range of motion, with no major halo effect at any focus point. The color is a bit warmer than most LED lights, using Milwaukee’s TrueView branding for their recent line of cordless lighting solutions. The 800 lumen output on high is really on the upper end of performance for lights sharing this larger form factor. The run time is decent, with a 2Ah battery yielding 2.5 hours of light on high. I though it was a bit silly though that Milwaukee specified the run time at 5 hours using a 4Ah XC battery, since that makes the flashlight have an awkward protrusion at the end. There is a 3Ah compact style of battery that Milwaukee just released though, which will offer great run time without increasing the size of the base.I did a run time test myself using a 1.5Ah battery, and got 1 hr 40 min out of it. When scaled linearly, this amounts to 4 hr 26 min using a 4Ah battery – about half an hour shy of Milwaukee’s claimed run time. It’s possible that the XC batteries are a little more efficient though, and you would see an actual 5 hour life using the bigger batteries. If you want a bit more run time, there’s always a low mode that outputs 325 lumens, and lasts 7 hours on a 4Ah battery. I was a little disappointed that the run time wasn’t a little more efficient for low mode, since you’re sacrificing over half the light output, and only getting a 40% bump in run time. There’s also an 800 lumen strobe mode, in case you want to signal for help, blind an attacker, give someone a seizure, or throw a rave.Overall, this is a great performing light that looks to be priced fairly competitively for the target market that Milwaukee designed it for.

The light produced is very nice. The lighting is smooth wether using flood or spot. It is very nice that the power and mode switches are separate. No having to toggle between modes to get to the one you need. The blink warning to a low battery is helpful. I would recommend this flashlight to anyone else. I only have a few issues. The flashlight is somewhat heavy. If Wilwaukee could drop the weight by 1/4 it would be less fatigue to hold for long periods of time. The supplied lanyard is far to weak to last. The light is too heavy to use the lanyard for hands-free carrying. It needs to be held close to your body when not in use but is too large to fit in a pocket. The light should have been delivered with a belt clip. I had to make my own from some 1 1/4 PVC. Changing the color of the power/mode switch from black to red would help to locate the switch faster in low light situations.
