   I bought this to use at work because we need quick and easy stuff. OMG… we’ve made regular waffles with eggs, gravy and sausage, cheese etc. Cornbread bowls with chili… Yellow cake bowls with ice cream, and this week is Cheddar Bay Biscuit bowls with spaghetti. The possibilities are endless.. WE LOVE IT!!

   Before using this, I sponge-washed the insides and olive oil-prepped it before turning it on. I tweaked the Presto manual to make a heavy batter, substituting milk for heavier almond milk and substituting all-purpose flour with quick oats flour, made in my food processor (Note: the bowls are light tan instead of golden.) I also omitted the sugar, and I added a 2nd egg. The result is that my bowls don’t rise to the top, but they were scrumptious! If I want taller bowls, I will place more than 1/2 cup of batter into the maker.We make homemade ice cream and scoop it into the bowls, or we simply just eat them as a nutritious snack.The ease of use, great baking capability, low price point, and brand name product made me select this item from Home Depot. However, I would buy it again as a gift because I know friends that would also enjoy using this easy-to-use fine waffle maker and enjoy making the healthier version recipe that we make.

   It is a fun novelty for people with kids or to serve to guests because the waffle is in the shape of a bowel and it allows you to add fruit, yogurt, or whatever . Problem is, it doesn’t have a timer or a light to tell you when the waffle is ready. I have another waffle maker, which lights up when the temp is right and beeps when the waffle is ready. This one has a light to tell you that the temp is right to add the mix, but you will need a separate timer to tell when the waffle is ready. And you will need to experiment to find the correct time. Cleaning is easy and the waffle bowel is fun. I recommend it as a novelty. If you are really serious about waffles, get one with a ready beeper or ready light.
