This versatile machine acts as both a spindle sander and a belt sander, oscillating up to 58 times per minute with a 5/8 in. stroke. This package includes 5 different spindle sanding sizes (1/2 in., 3/4 in., 1 in., 1-1/2 in. and 2 in.) and one 4 x 24 in. belt. The powerful 3.5 amp motor rotates the various spindles up to 2000 times per minute and the belt up to 1575 ft. per minute. Onboard storage helps to organize all of the throat plates, rubber sanding drums and table inserts included with this sander while the 1-1/2 in. dust port allows woodworkers to connect a dust collection system to minimize clean up. Adjust the table anywhere from 0 to 45° to help take on angled edges and surfaces. This sander also comes with 6-pieces of 80-Grit sandpaper: 1 for the belt and 5 for each respective size spindle diameter. I’ve had this from Nov. 2019, now May 2020, I am running into issues. I primarily use the belt sander portion, which is great. It give you two size round edges, so no need to change sizing as frequently. A few days ago, I noticed the belt wasn’t moving up and down regularly as it did previously. I have called WEN 3X’s now to try to get to the bottom of the issue. One gentlemen said it was a belt issues. I was able to take it apart and look at the belts and they look fine. I am now using this for a part time business that turned into full time due to C19 and if I don’t get it corrected, I am going to go with the more expensive Rigid. Overall, if you can get one with a belt, do it, it’s a great add on.

This works well. It does what you expect of it. The knurled nut atop the belt attachment spindle self tightens too much to be hand removed. Pliers are required. Assembly instructions are fair. There is a white washer below the spindle drum that I can’t seem to find its proper use in the instructions. Overall, worth the money. Go for it!

But this sander performs way more than enough for the home garage, if you’re a serious profesional woodworker doing it for a living this isn’t for you.Rpm is fast enough for both belt and spindle, doesn’t bog down when I sand 2x4s flush on the ends, it’s not so loud that your neighbors will hate you.I would invest in better belts, but it should not stop you from buying the machine, use up the one that comes with it first. The only other competitors are rigid and grizzly, but all 3 are made overseas and even have the same “shell”, not sure if there are any motor differences, seems like for around 200 dlls they are basically interchangeable.
