I was looking for a radio to use at work but i wanted something that would run off rechargeable batteries. I ended up going with this dewalt radio because it runs off rechargeable batteries and it will also charge the batteries when you have the radio plugged into an ac outlet . After 1hr of charging the 18v dewalt battery that i purchased it was fully charged and i was blasting the radio continuously for about 6 hours straight and the radio was still kicking. Not only does the radio sound great but it also has an auxiliary jack so you plug in your mp3 player/ ipod. . Overall i have to say this is one amazing radio and i also love the fact that it has 3 ac outlets on it so you can power up some tools or charge up your other devices.

My Wife bought me this radio for Christmas. Over the last year or so I have bought several DeWalt tools, including Hammer Drill, Impact Driver and Oscillating tool, all of which use the 20V Max Li-ion batteries, unfortunately my wife didn’t realize this Radio/Charger doesn’t charge them :-(. Having read reviews for the DeWalt DC015 (the Radio/Charger that DOES charge 20V) it seems that THIS Radio is actually the better sounding of the Two. I have a 14.4V DeWalt Hammerdrill lying around, and I’m using the batteries from that in this Radio so I can use it should I lose electrical power at Home or Jobsite/Campsite or wherever. I also bought the little DeWalt Bluetooth Adapter so I can play tracks from my phone via the Aux input, which is much better than having to leave my phone attached to the Radio. The phone can play/skip/pause tracks and control the volume remotely :-). This radio is very loud and keeps pretty good sound quality at loud volumes. Was recently taking down the Christmas lights around the exterior of my home and could clearly hear music playing on the radio in my garage around the other side of the house ! (Used my phone to turn it down before I annoyed the neighbors lol)
