NOVA ILNS 1-1/4 in. 8TPI Chuck Insert/Adaptor allows you to ‘adapt’ your Insert Type NOVA Chuck to a 1 1/4 in. 8TPI Wood Lathe. Allows you to keep the same chuck and accessories if you change your wood lathe – you only need to change the insert/adaptor. The internal thread is 1-1/4 in. 8TPI and the external thread matches the NOVA insert type chucks, to simply and easily screw into the back of your NOVA Insert Type Chuck. This insert works as advertised for the Nova G3 chuck that requires the insert. I use this on by Nova lathe. Please note that there is also a G3 chuck threaded 1″ x 8TPI that does not require the insert. This 1″ x 8TPI chuck would thread onto my Delta lathe w/o the insert.

This worked great with my Super Nova 2 chuck. The only thing I don’t like is the threads are too long so the chuck does not snug up against the insert. It looks like it needs a washer or something. I haven’t used it on anything large yet so I haven’t noticed if it diminishes performance or not.
