Great product it worked,
I had to scramble to purchase a router while working on a woodworking project. I have several Porter Cable tools and have been very happy with them. I didn’t need a heavy duty router (already have one) but a smaller one for smaller/lighter load work. I really liked the height adjustment and locking mechanism. Compared to my old router, a Craftsman, the PC was much easier to adjust. I was disappointed, however, that the base did not match up with the holes in my small router table. I thought the hole patters were an industry standard….I guess not. I got around the problem by drilling new holes though.Overall the router has worked great and is consistent with Porter Cable quality.
I have used Porter Cable routers for a lot of years. always a great product and never a problem. I use in commercial woodworking so definitely built to hold up
works very well
Smooth and built solid. I replaced a craftsman that I had had for quite a few years. No comparison! You can feel the difference before you even take the shipping plastic off. Great router!
It is very good and very good quality.
I needed it for a router table to cut keyways Perfect
I bought this with the only router table available at the store. The table said it was universal. It would fit, right? Well, not given the holes specified in the manual. Joe played with the two and was able to connect them. I did have a little trouble with the depth walking, but was able to adjust it. Now I am happily working on my porch/converted work station.
This is my second router. I also have the super-cheap ryobi that HD sells. That ryobi has cut hundreds of feet of baseboard fairly well. I bought the porter cable to use with a dovetail jig since the collars didn’t fit the ryobi. Maybe it was just a great excuse to get another router. Pro: it’s small and easy to handle. It’s powerful enough to use with normal sized bits – but starts to let you know that it’s working hard with 1/2 radius bits into hardwood. The depth adjustment ring – once you figure out how it works – is really awesome. That part is way better than the Ryobi. The lack of plastic gives it a very solid quality feel. The only downside is that the bottom plate has a very small hole that doesn’t support the use of alot of medium to large bits – but I guess that wasn’t what it’s made for anyway. The trigger is not on the handle – so you have to start it a ways from the wood due to the kick.
The Porter Cable 11 Amp 1.75 HP Fixed Base Router Kit has lived up to my expectations. I mounted it on a router table and used it to fashion a piece of head casing trim that has #3 profiles, a bullnose at the top, a bead in the middle and a cove at the bottom. It performed admirably.
Easy setup and use. It gets the job done.
Been using same model for 26 years this will be my 4th one.
Good performance depth adjustment ok. Plenty of power
making some cabinets and was just what I needed
I have owned one for about 2yrs. Works great, no problems with it. Good 1/2 router for the price.
Though the pictures on the documentation could be more clear, the router was easy to figure out. I quickly mounted the needed bits and set the height to cut some dovetails in oak like cutting butter.
I have 3 of these routers , they last forever , plenty of power , very versatile . I have had others but now only buy the PC 690
Very nice! and powerful. easy to use and control. depth adjustments are easy and accurate!
My fifth router, 4th like this. Not sure if I like ht. adjustment lock yet or not. Plenty of power for what it will be used for.
