DEWALT 6.5 Amp Corded Jig Saw Kit with Kit Box

Was just what I needed to replace an old Sears Jig Saw that had seen it’s better days.

I bought this tool to replace a 20+ year old Makita jig saw. I have made a few cuts and so far so good. I like the easy blade replacement.

Well made and heavy duty build quality. Cut softwood like poplar & pine boards and plywood up to 3/4″ with no problems. Fairly easy to cut straight lines. I haven’t done anything besides normal cutting and ripping of soft wood no angled cuts. Seems to have tons of power but I haven’t tried it on sheet metal or pvc. Wood is no problem. I like that it blows air out the front to keep the sight line clear but sometimes it doesn’t completely clear it out and the line is hard to see. Wish there was either a laser line or bright white LED along with air nozzle. Hopefully this lasts me a long time which it seems like it should.

This jig saw is very adaptable, easy to change settings, and never fails to perform well.

this little baby is really nice. strong, versatile, durable. my first cut was through a 2×10 for the legs of a desk i made. the second was through two 1x 4s. very clean, smooth operation.

Well made, superior quality, great storage case! Cons: priced too high & radius cuts thru 2×6 flared out at bottom of cut (ie. Cut not plumb). Perhaps a heavier blade would have helped. Thinner material cut great. VERY easy to change blades without tools. More later after more use.

Extremely happy with the tool as a whole. Smooth power and user friendly variable speed. Well worth the cost.

Excellent purchase. Much more solid and therefore heavier than my previous jigsaw but the quality is amazing and a much better cut.

This saw works very well! I do not have strong hands, due to arthritis, but I am able to handle it just fine. I chose a corded model so as not to have the extra weight of a battery. The cord length is fine for me. The inserting and removing of the blades is simple and easy. I also like the fact that it comes with a case for storage! The only recommendation I would make to DeWalt, and other brands, is to include a cleaning brush. It would make it easier to clean the saw after use.

So far this saw has worked great for my application. I build custom corn hole boards and use this to cut the radius on the legs. My old Jigsaw just did not seem to have the power that this one has. It takes no time at all for this to chew through a cut. It is quite a bit heavier than my old one but it has a lot more power so the weight difference is understandable. The cutting platform is solid and slides well across the material during a cut. The only downside is that I wish there was an LED light that lit up your cutting area. Great saw, definitely recommend adding it to the arsenal!

Just bought the jig saw and love it. So easy to replace the blade and start using it. Case is nice and not cheap. Only drawback, does not come with blades. Very happy with it.

I upgrade from a $120 makita 3.9 Amp Variable-Speed Jig Saw and HOLY SMOKES this thing is infinitely better. It cuts faster, smoother, and the blower motor that blows sawdust out of your sight line is a godsend. The keyless blade change is also hugely appreciated. Well worth the extra money.

Well made, cuts good, lightweight

Have had this Jig Saw since 2009. Did comparison with Bosch and felt that DeWalt won hands down. Convenient, easy to use, easy to adjust the base for any angle; convenient and predictable speed adjustment; accurate cuts. Super easy to install and change blades. I am home owner so reliable tools that last are for me. I have many DeWalt products and have had one cordless drill since 2006. “Guaranteed Tough” is no joke.

This Jig Saw performed better than expected. I was able to cut and shape plywood, 1/2” thick, with no difficulty. Surprised I couldn’t find DeWalt Jig Saw blades at Home Depot, will have to recheck again.
