Good saw, rips through anything. You need this saw if you are doing renos. Quick release blade mechanism is nice and works well until it rusts. When mine locked up I just sprayed it with some silicone (WD-40 works too) and it freed up immediately. It’s a bit heavy but I cant complain. If you don’t want vibration, go with the AVT. Because theres no vibration it cuts much faster than a normal recip saw and its easier to be accurate with your cuts too

I own this saw and the Milwaukee 15 amp super Sawzall. Both of them are absolute beasts. Comparing the 2, the Makita has less vibration and has a larger, metal case. Milwaukee cuts slightly faster in orbital mode, but vibrates more.

Good saw, lower vibration and easy to control. The only thing I don’t like about this saw is the way the trigger lock integration works. If you touch the trigger with the trigger lock on, it disengages the trigger lock (normal). Can’t really hold this saw well without gripping over the trigger.

This saw is a beast. Glad I got rid of the old one and I am using this one. Cuts fast and clean and not as much vibration.

The biggest and baddest reciprocating saw there is. Worth the money. Makita never fails.

This is one very powerful tool. It will destroy anything! Overall, this is an excellent saw. The variable speed is a very useful feature as it allows to use the saw in less demanding applications. Otherwise, any user would find it to be too powerful. The saw feels a bit heavy at the beginning but once you start using it, it does not feel as much. I did not feel any vibration so the AVT feature must really work. The blade changing is bit difficult as you have to apply a good degree of force to remove/replace the blade. Metal case is sturdy and professional looking. But a plastic case would have probably been a better choice as the metal one could get banged and dented. It’s not a cheap saw but you do get what you pay for. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

I was tired of switching my Dewalt 18 volt batteries just to do 5 minutes worth of cut! So I purchase this Makita JR3070CT corded reciprocating saw for my Fall tree branch pruning to keep the street clear of low lying branches. I was using it with a 18 ft. ladder and it was powerful enough to cut the 6″ diameter branch. I would of normally have to use a chain saw to do that; but my chain saw would always need to get a new chain blade and it takes me about 30 minute to do the replacement – cost over $35 just for the chain blade. Re-sharping the blade is near the same cost and you have to leave it and then pick it up. Starting it up takes time since it only been used once or twice a year!Anyways; the Makita was fast, stable and almost no vibration free. I am very much impress by the JR3070CT! I used it again for reducing the smaller branches into 3 ft. long sections and tied them up for pickup. It was a breeze and no vibration unlike the DeWalt reciprocating saw, that just vibrated like crazy when you are cutting smaller tree limbs and even smaller stuff like 1/8″!It is the best reciprocating saw I have every used. I have used the top of the line Millwakee Sawall as well the top of the line corded DeWalt and nothing even comes close to the Makita JR3070CT in quality and performance! It comes in a very heavy gauge teal metal slim rectangle container/box with an chrome handle with a top open door. I love the case! It is very nice. Inside was section off for placing different stuff in! Painted glossy teal inside and out!
