I’m a carpenter and yesterday I had a couple of wood steps to build while waiting for a bricklayer to show up. They were both small steps with just a couple of treads to step down out of 2 French doors down onto a patio. I used my 20 volt Dewalt on the first 2 small stair stringers. It was CCA and was wet and it took 2 fresh 4 amp batteries to make the cuts for the 2 stringers for the first steps. It was all the 20volt could do to make the 4 triangle cuts out and the top and bottom cut. The bricklayer called and couldn’t make it until the next day so I punted on the second steps until today. While at Home Depot this morning noticed this saw was reduced in price so I bought it. It was amazing how much more power this new saw has. It cut through the same wet CCA yellow pine effortlessly! Another big improvement over the older 20 volt saw is they have improved the safety switch. The old saw I had trouble with it binding if I didn’t press on it just right. With the new saw they have greatly improved that switch.

powerful, accurate, easy to use, not too heavy, battery life is good, very good instant blade brake, charger has a fan but that is necessary to be able recharge the battery quickly. I bought (2) batteries which is necessary if you are going to be using it a lot at once. I do wish that it had a hard case like my cordless drill does instead of the carrying bag, but the bag is tough & OK.

I was astounded of the power this saw has. This is the first cordless full size saw I’ve used that is truly practically usable. Hopefully it will become popular enough for the price to become practical too.

This saw is impressive. It seems to be easily as powerful as my corded circular saw but is lighter and cuts better. I used it this weekend to build a fence and it had no problem cutting PT 4x4s. I would not hesitate to recommend this saw.

The power of corded? Maybe so for general use. I was was able to kill 2 batteries pretty quick cutting a set of yellow pine stair stringers. For normal use its great and has the most power of any cordless saw I’ve used. Handle position is a little higher up than a corded saw because of the battery. Still getting used to the safety switch. Freedom!

Recently my corded saw had kicked the bucket. over the years over the years I had been purchasing many blades just so I can have a wide assortment and back up when needed. I had also been dreaming of the day that I can go cordless. Well when my saw finally cut its last board I decided it was time to invest in a cordless saw as a replacement. I initially went out and purchased the DeWalt 20 volt 6.5 inch blade saw not really thinking that I was currently sitting on a rather large Supply of 7.25 inch blades that would no longer be of any use to me. When I got home I tried out the song and was rather impressed by the power that it had. I used it for about 2 weeks and the type of lumber I was cutting through varied and so did the effectiveness of the saw. It all had to do with the amount of cuts and whether or not it would bog down the motor. During the Black Friday Christmas season I was walking through the store and seeing the display for the Flexvolt saw. Wow was that pricey and the 60v batteries were even worse… so I so I started doing the math and pricing out new blades that fit the 6.5 inch saw I recently purchased and realized how close the difference was between buying new blades and what I already paid for the saw verses the Flexvolt saw, which i already had tons of extra blades for. Then I noticed an in-store special where are you purchase the flexvolt saw kit with 20v/60v Fast Charger, 60v battery, and carry bag, AND get a $150 60v battery FREE.. so without a second thought I purchased the kit and the next time I ran to town I returned the 20 volt saw for a full refund. The flexvolt system is unbelievable. The 60v batteries work on all 20v tools but the 20v batteries do not fit the Flexvolt tools.. that’s fine with that’s fine with me because I do not see myself buying the smaller 20 volt batteries to use in the 60v Flexvolt tools but at least my 60V batteries allow me to use them in my other 20V tools. This new Flexvolt saw of mine is by far the best cordless tool I own. It’s extremely powerful and I cannot tell much of a difference if any When comparing it to a corded saw. No More cords. I love it. I highly recommend getting this saw even if you cannot find the special with the extra free battery. But I must say that was an excellent deal to get that battery for free. About a week later I went out and purchased the flexvolt grinder kit and received the same special where I got an additional battery for free. Take advantage of this offer while it is still available. I would give it 10 Stars if I could

I am a new home builder and remodeler. I now use this saw on a daily bases and it does the job all day long. It came with 2 batteries which is ideal. The table stays true and square and having a full size blade in a cordless saw is a must especially when cutting LVLs for header material.

Great saw, only thing I didn’t like is that it’s built like a lefty, easy to get used too.

Batteries charged up quickly, saw worked great.The batteries worked in all my other 20 volt dewalt equiptment. Great to have batteries that last so long.

Just one word to describe it…It’s a BEAST!!! The saw has ridiculous power…PERIOD! No other circular saw even comes close! This thing cuts like butter. 2x4s, 2×6’s, 3/4 plywood…..this thing zips thru them with ease. The Flexvolt batteries last basically all day! I have yet to use power tool batteries that have this much runtime. I’ve used several different brands in the past from Porter cable, Skil, and Rigid, and this saw mops the floor with those. It’s just a superior piece of equipment! Yes…it IS expensive..but you absolutely get what you pay for. No other Way to put it!! If you’re a contractor and in the market for a circular saw….JUST GET IT! You’ll be glad you did!

This saw has the power as advertised. Battery lasts a bit, but two will not work for a professional carpenter all day. However, one will last long enough for the other to be charged. Smooth sawing, not a jerky cut as some cheap saw will be. However, the brake takes a little to get used to as when you take your finger off the trigger, the blade will stop soon after. The housing is a bit more in the way then my corded Milwaukee 7-1/2″ saws, and that is my biggest complaint as it is a bit harder to see your cut, not impossible. Overall I like the tool, and keep it in my truck so I have a saw from jobsite to jobsite, and easy to use without finding power, getting out extension cord, and wrap up the same. I’ve had the saw for a few weeks now, I am a general contractor with a crew of several guys that also will use it.
