Description

General Tools has grown to become the recognized industry leader for specialty hand tools and instruments. Drill Stops are used to prevent excessive bit penetration in doweling and other drilling applications. Attaching a Drill Stop to the twist or brad-point drill bit assures that hole is drilled to the specified depth. The set includes six, cold-rolled steel Drill Stops in a black oxide finish. The Stops attach easily to standard drill bits with a set screw and hex wrench (included). The set also includes a reusable snap blister for storage.

Designed for use with doweling jigs (not included) and brad-point or twist drill bits (not included)
Helps control drilling depth when drilling holes for joining 2 surfaces
Positive depth control allows for exact hole depths for multiple drilling jobs
Made from cold-rolled, high-speed steel

This is a product that matches its price. The quality is not good. The inner bore diameter is too lose and the stopper dont fit properly on the drill shaft. The set screw can be easily stripped. But for 4 dollars i dont think i have much to complained.

I like them. Even with a bench top drill press. I’ve had one and their drill stops seem to be garbage. For the money, can’t beat these. I was careful about how much I tightened the set screw. I’m not sure how much torque before it strips out. I did have it come loose and then tightened it more which seemed to be enough. And if I had to buy a new set because I stripped a set screw out, I would. Checking to ensure the set screw is snug isn’t an issue when you want to drill a hole to a specific depth. That’s why we want them, right? Normally I don’t give 5 stars but this set is worth replacing. With my cordless drill, I drilled the depth holes that I wanted.
