Delta 12-1/2 in. Mini- Wood Lathe with Variable Speed

This lathe is well make and will do anything I need to do on a lathe. In addition the XMAS sale that was on when I purchased it made in an excellent purchase.

Works great but it should have accessories to go with or to purchase. Having a hard time finding accessories.

I got as a christmas gift and live it so far. with the extention this is a great lathe for beginners, intermediate and advanced turners.

I picked up my new Delta Lathe 46-460 on June 19, 2020. It was solidly packed in styrofoam. After unboxing it, I liked its looks and design. I started it and varied the speeds and checked the alignment; all was good. One small concern was that the forward and reverse switch interchanged the two directions. A major issue was that the machine was unusable: the tool rest base was missing the four critical parts that attach it to the lathe bed, as I deduced from the accompanying parts schematic. I called Home Depot Customer Service who directly connected me to Delta Corporation who mailed me the four missing parts ten days later. Clearly Delta’s final assembly and quality assurance need improvement. Had Delta shipped me the missing parts via Overnight Express I might have felt more forgiving.

Enjoying using this quality lathe

I was very happy with this lathe. The product features are all easy to use even for a first time turner. It is quiet for a shop tool. Seems to be solid and well made for the price.

The best for the price

Prompt delivery and the lathe was as ordered. Good to do business with a great efficient company. Every employee is always so courteous and helpful.

Went from a 3/4 hp to this guy and I would never believe a 1/4 horse would make such a difference. No assembly plug and go every one is getting ready for hurricane season so I turned over 100 green bowls in a week and no issues no over heating like my other guy.

My husband has been very satisfied with this lathe.

Excellent size lathe for my purposes. Has an extension bed if I ever need it.

The lathe arrived in a timely manner and was in good shape. Packaged well. Set up was quick and easy. This is a big improvement over my previous lathe from Harbor Freight. The only reason I’ve given this lathe 4 stars is because the Fwd/Rev switch was wired backwards.Though it was an easy enough thing for me to fix, I resent the fact that this company thinks quality assurance is the customers job. It’s not my job to correct the factory’s mistakes. Otherwise, I haven’t had this product long enough to give a good review of it.

Very nice I love it

Picked up the Delta midi on sale at HD after using one in a community workshop for three years. We had no maintenance problems despite near continuos use by dozens of members. A rugged tool….

LATHE IS STRONG, BELT EASY TO CHANGE, GOOD WEIGHT, NO VIBRATION.TURNS A 10″X10″ EASILY, AT ANY SPEED.

Great starter lathe. Not quite big enough for the larger bowl projects but anything 12 inches or less does a good job. Variable speed is a very nice feature. Overall a pretty good little lathe.

This is a beautifully well made lathe. One horse power motor out classes any other midi lathe on the market. It’s smooth, vibration free and the tail stock is perfectly aligned with the drive center. One thing that puzzles me though, is why Delta still hasn’t fixed the wrong way wired reverse switch. Other than that, it’s still well worth the money.
