    This flashlight is larger than most of the LED flashlights on the market today, and it’s heavy, one and a half pounds with battery attached. However, big and heavy have their advantages. It is very bright (800 lumens). I took it outside last night and it lit up my entire back yard.It has a smooth sliding mechanism for changing the focus between the flood and spot. In spot mode, the beam goes much further. When lighting up my back yard in flood mode, I couldn’t see anything past the fence. After sliding it to spot mode, the beam got much narrower and I could easily and clearly see the trees in the neighbors yard 4 doors down. The two push buttons are simple to operate. One is on/off, the other has three settings, bright, dim and strobe, Both are easily accessible without having to re-position your hand. Even though it is big and heavy it feels good in your hand and it’s balanced evenly. It feels more like a tool than a toy. Also, it’s solidly made. I didn’t throw it down to see if it would hold up, it’s too purdy for that, but it will clearly hold up to quite a bit of abuse and be in your truck and/or toolbox for years to come.The contents of the box include the LED flashlight, and a 12 volt lithium-ion battery and charger. The battery and charger may look familiar to you, it’s the same one used on many other 12 volt Milwaukee tools. I haven’t put it to the test yet, but the manual says the battery will last 5 hours in bright mode, 7 hours in dim mode.

    I got this for trade use, as I’m an electrical contractor. I am heavily invested into Milwaukee cordless, so this was a no-brainer for me, as I have a ton of batteries. On the job, I don’t want to have to worry about keeping spare AA batteries or similar around, especially where this will reside in the truck all winter long. I also know, just like all of my other Milwaukee tools, that this will stand up to job site abuse, without fail.Milwaukee states that this will cast a beam in spot mode to over 375 yards. I have no easy way to measure this, but my driveway is about a 1/4 of a mile long before it takes a sharp turn, and this will throw light that distance. It’s about on par with the Milwaukee Spot Light, model 2353, in that regard. Of course though, the beam on this flashlight can be adjusted from wide to narrow.The aluminum body is very nicely machined. It balances well in the hand with the compact battery, but with one of the extended batteries inserted, it is noticeably bottom-heavy, and doesn’t point anywhere near as naturally. The necessary bulge in the body to accommodate the battery takes a little getting used to, perhaps.This unit is a little pricey, but for someone already into the M12 line, who needs a quality, reliable flashlight, I highly recommend it.

    Great flashlight. I have always used Milwaukee tools. They are great tool, but I was a little skeptical about the flashlight at first. Making a long story short I bought a second one for my father. He too was blown away of the power of this flashlight. I just purchased a 3rd one, overa great tool.
