   Bought these for a few projects in different types of wood. They cut like butter. I think some of the issues of people complaining they are “dull” are people not using them correctly. Says right on the bit 800 rpm max. Cordless drills typically work at 1500rpm and will burn up wood. I use these in my drill press at 600rpm and get incredibly clean holes full bore or partial depth (pine, poplar, oak, and ironwood this far). Should be used on low speed with a cordless drill.

    These Ryobi Forstner bits are fantastic. They cut nice and deep without issue, and only one time, on a wet piece of wood, did I really have to put some muscle into the drill to get it to run completely through. I would definitely purchase again.

    I don’t have a drill press but they fit my 20 volt drills just fine. Used them to make screw head and threaded rivot insets in dense plastic. They worked great, I’m certain they will do even better for wood applications.

    I bought these primarily so I can still holes and put dowels through them on my prior planter stand, to hold up thee individual planters. They worked perfectly! Eventually, I may use them to build some cabinet doors to drill out the hidden hinge holders. I didn’t use them as they are meant to be used, in a drill press, but I was able to successfully and safely use them with a handheld power drill. The key is to have good clamps on your work piece, and drill carefully and slowly to get some momentum before you ramp up the speed. Definitely recommend!
